Happy April! The biggest news in Social Media right now? My man crush Mr. Harry Styles just dropped the video for his new single on YouTube and he’s looking absolutely fierce in red. 🔥
Now I’ve got that important update out of the way, I’ll fill you in on what’s new for TikTok and Instagram.
Instagram’s feed has gone [optionally] chronological
After teasing the idea with us back in December, Instagram is now finally giving us the option to choose our feed to be in chronological order.
When you open the app and go to the feed, you should be able to click on ‘Instagram’ and see two options:
Favourites: This will show you the latest posts from up to 50 accounts that you add as your favorites.
Following: This will show you posts from all the accounts you follow.
Both the ‘Favourites’ and ‘Following’ options will show you posts in chronological order. It’s like 2008 all over again. What’s next? The return of the Lomo-fi filter?
Instagram is testing a full-screen main feed of posts, Stories and Reels
Feed posts, Stories and Reels all within a single flow? Please gawd no!
Yet another copycat move from TikTok, Instagram is testing out a new way to view the different types of content across the platform with it all being displayed in a downward scrollin’ feed.
It’s not official yet as to whether it’s been given the thumbs up to go ahead, but it’s pretty likely with IG wanting to compete with TikTok’s addictive scrolling ways.
Whatcha reckon? Is the example below the future?

TikTok is testing a ‘Watch History’ option
We’ve all been there. You’re telling you friend ‘I saw this hilarious thing on TikTok last night, wait … let me find it’ to discover you never dropped the video a ‘like’ so now it’s lost forever.
Lucky for us, that awkward moment might soon be a thing of the past with a new ‘Watch History’ function coming to the platform.
Nothing official yet, but we’ll update ya as soon as we know!
